When Korea meets Chile – Missha Super Aqua Ice Tear Essence review

All the thoughts and opinions in my posts are my own at the moment. The posts and reviews aren’t sponsored yet and the links I share aren’t affiliate links yet. For the case IF I’ll mark the sponsored/affiliate content.

Owners of combo and oily skin, who of you would try a cosmetic product that fully absorbs and hydrates your skin? That doesn’t leave an oily shine and isn’t sticky? Please raise your hand! I’ll be first and going tell you today about this wonder.

It exists, believe me!

Today, I want to write about Super Aqua Ice Tear Essence from Missha.

Missha is a worldwide known korean cosmetic brand. Has very large range of products and is very popular.”

No, it’s not a cream. Who uses korean cosmetics knows that there are much more for facial skin care than a cream. Before I started to use K-Beauty products, I didn’t know all about this. But I’m gonna try to explain it to those who don’t know.

Korean facial skin care routine includes 10 steps. I don’t want to explain all of them in this post, only mention. Maybe I’ll do another post some day dedicated to korean 10-steps routine.

And these are the steps: cleansing oil, cleanser, peeling/exfoliator. sheetmask, toner, essence, emulsion/serum/ampoule, eyecream, cream, sunscreen.

So you can see after you tone your skin, you should directly apply essence.

What is an essence? – It is a cosmetic product that is more consentrated than a toner and less than a serum. This is the concept of korean skin care beauty to apply in many steps many products from less concentrated to more. An essence should soften and moisturize your skin and prepare it for the next step. Essences are more gel like than toners.

If you ask me: Do I need all these steps? I would say: No! It depends on the situation. But I don’t want to speak about it in this post. Let’s speak about the product.

To the product

I bought this essence only to know what it is. And I had luck, I loved it from the first time.

Super Aqua line of Missha has a wide range of products, but I bought me first the cream. I was very excited from its moisturizing effect. So I decided to try the essence too.

I found it in a german cosmetic shop and was very surprised, because I always thought I can only buy them online.

What’s about?

Korean skin care brands are known to use for their products strange stuff like placenta, snake poison, bird’s nest etc. to understand what it is you need a special guide for K-beauty. In this case it is not so outstanding. The essence only contains not normal water, but the water from a glacier and this glacier is not somewhere in Asia, but at the end of the world in Patagonia, South America. Here, quite in the south, is he located between Argentina and Chile the glacier called “Tears of Ice”.

According to the producer the water from the glacier has another structure, than our normal water.

“Containing uncontaminated glacier water from Patagonia, Chile with similar structure to that of hexagonal water which is skin friendly, it helps provide moisture to dry skin.”

Don’t ask me now what is the structure of water. No idea, guys!

It must have something extraordinary if they chose it.

What else is there?

“Containing abundant minerals, it promotes radiant and clear skin.”

Oh, there are minerals in it! Which of them is not mentioned.

Contains deep sea water from a lagoon in South Pacific. There is not only glacier water in it!

What should it do to our skin? Hydrate and refresh for more moisture and soft skin.

“Essence  with clear and clean glacier water to help get moist and clear skin by replenishing skin’s moisture level.”

So does it look like:

The box. With daub of curcuma on it 🙂
The bottle is of glass.
With a pump.
The texture is gel like.

How it worked to my skin:

  • gives intensive moisture
  • refresh
  • isn’t sticky
  • fully absorbs
  • skin comlexion looks better
  • very good under make-up
  • no allergic reaction
  • no oily shine

contains too many silicones

I love this essence though it contains too many silicones, but it is very gentle to skin and it is the frist product that didn’t give my skin oily shine, this was the essetial to me. I bought it twice last year. Now I want to try something else, but I know there’ s a product I liked and can use whenever I want.

Stay beautiful 🙂
