FRUDIA Citrus Brightening Toner review

Many, many years I suffered from red post-acne spots and  bad skin complexion. My dermatologist prescribed me always one and the same ointment I hated. It did nothing and cost money.

Since I’ve been using korean cosmetics I know: it was simply a false treatment. What I needed was not something from drugstore, but special skin care. Now I am wiser and found finally how to treat skin troubles.

What’s the reason for skin troubles?

I did some research about skin care. Guys, I’m not a dermatologist and not cosmetician. Everything I wrote below is only how I understood what I learned about skin troubles. If you find something wrong, write me in the comments.

Our skin has a natural lipid layer and its main function is to defense our skin from pollution, dryness, harmful bacteria, irritation etc. If you don’t care about your skin or if you choose cosmetic products which don’t suit your skin type, you can destroy this lipid-layer and oxidize your skin and as a result you can get: wrinkles, skin aging, bad skin complexion, redness, sebum troubles etc. In other words you damage your skin.
For oxidation process are responsible molecules called free radicals. To keep your skin in shape against free radicals, help anti-oxidants. They inhibit oxidizing process and fight free radicals. They:

– improve skin complexion
– prevent from aging
– brighten your skin
– control sebum production etc.

The most important anti-oxidants are vitamins: A, C and E. That means, that the source for anti-oxidants are fruits and vegetables. So you have 3 options to get anti-oxidants:

1. You run to the supermarket,

buy fruits and eat as many as you can

2. You choose cosmetics with anti-oxidants (say fruits and vegetables)

3. You find a balance between option 1 and 2. Our skin needs to be feed inside and outside.

Let me introduce to you a product which I learned to love in the past 5-6 weeks. I am talking about FRUDIA Citrus Brightening Toner.

About company:

Frudia is a trademark of, a korean cosmetics producer. The company was established 1986 as Hyundai Cosmetics Industrial. After some research, I’ve got a notion that Frudia was designed especially for US market (though according to their website information, they launched many stores for Frudia in Asian countries too). They launched even a website But even more, it is not easy to find their products in online shops for K-beauty. The brand isn’t as famous as other korean beauty brands like Missha or Klairs.

They claim:

All the brands of Welcos are based on the concept of keeping the skin of its customers healthy with natural raw materials and environmentally-friendly prescription

To the product

First of all FRUDIA has four lines of products: yellow for brightening, pink for anti-aging, lila for moisturizing and green for impure skin. Each line has: toner, sheet-mask, serum and cream.

I didn’t know first what to choose and finally decided to buy this toner, because it was in SALE and I didn’t want to spend much money for an unknown product.

A plastic bottle. Its design reminds me of grannies home-made jam.

Amount: 195 ml

It is a liquid toner, it means you can apply it only with a cotton pad. I tried to apply with hands, but it is runny. Has a very fresh smell of citruses. Very nice. Big LIKE!

Very liquid. Like water, but smells.

I let the incidecoder help me and recognize the key Ingredients.

What’s the promise?

According to the producer, the yellow line contains 86% of Jeju tangerine peel extract. Oh, yeah! Jeju again and tangerine again! Jeju is the biggest korean island and a holiday paradise. And in paradise you can find paradise fruits and this is Jeju tangerine. It is a sort of citruses and contains much vitamin C, that is a natural anti-oxidant. There are several sorts of it, if I remember exactly. Koreans love it and many korean cosmetics contain tangerine extracts or juice.

All FRUDIA products are made with a special method called: R Vita W“-Technology. It means they use cold pressed juice or fruit extracts as a base for their products instead of water. This method guarantees no loss of active ingredients  to give your skin the possibility to benefit from fruit’s nutrition and vitamins.

By containing Jeju tangerine peel extract (86%), this toner supplies rich vitamin and presents shine on skin. Niacinamide ingredient helps in whitening skin, while mango seed oil of fruits seed oil complex adds shine to skin with its strong moisturizing effect. This brightening toner, projecting true cleanness of tangerine, has completed skin imitation test, and thus, can be used on sensitive skin with ease.

And more:

Prevent dull skin with this brightening vitamin toner. Made up of 86% Jeju citrus extract, using regularly will give your skin a welcome refresh. Restore your natural glow with the nutrients from the citrus peels and fruit juices.. The citrus promotes a refreshed, flawless skin tone and can be used with all skin types.

Now we have it:

– for all skin types, even for sensitive skin

– brightening

– refreshing

– moisturzing

– nutrient

– adds shine to skin and restores natural glow

– helps to get flawless skin tone.

How it worked on my skin

  • moisturizes very good
  • refreshes
  • fully absorbs
  • not sticky
  • no allergic reaction
  • smells wonderful
  • improves skin complexion
  • smooth and soft skin

Yes, it brightens, but not enough for me. I guess to get the best result you should use this toner with serum and cream together.

Its lifetime is very short compared to gel-like toners. For example, I was using Missha Super Aqua Waterfull Active Toner for 6 months, by amount of 150ml. FRUDIA toner I’ve been using since 5-6 weeks and I used more than the half of the bottle by an amount of 195 ml.

Where to buy:

Worldwide: – 14,49$. – 33,99$,

What a difference in price! I wonder what’s the reason for it.

In Europe: – 12,68 €,, but unfortunately something has happened to their website during SALE season.

Howerver I couldn’t find this brand on websites for korean cosmetics like Jolse or StyleKorean. Even Roseroseshop doesn’t have them. For me it is more than strange, if they position themselves as a korean brand.

Do I like it? – YES!

Does it work? – YES!

Do I want to repurchase it? – YES!

Look guys, I wrote my honest opinion. I like it and it works for me. You should choose for yourselves.
