Whamisa review – testing samples: Deep Rich Toner, Sebum Treatment and Organic Fruits Peeling Finger Mitt

All the thoughts and opinions in my posts are my own at the moment. The posts and reviews aren’t sponsored yet and the links I share aren’t affiliate links yet. For the case IF I’ll mark the sponsored/affiliate content.

After blooming roses of the previous post, a bit more flowers in this one. And this time it’s about organics. No, it is not about my flowers, though it would make me happy. I finally tested Organic flowers line of Whamisa. After Olivarrier I was very curious to test another Korean organic cosmetic and decided to buy some of Whamisa samples. It’s great they offer little samples, I find the whole size is too expensive. I chose a toner, a sebum treatment and a peeling pad. But first about Whamisa ‘cos it was my first acquaintance with the brand.

About company

Though the brand has many websites for western countries and in English too, there is not much to find about the company behind the brand. After some research I found out that the brand Whamisa belongs to the ENSBEAUTYGROUP, a Korean retailer of cosmetic products. Besides Whamisa the group owns other cosmetic brands like Oolu, Beausome and New Days (dear readers of my post, if you’ve already tried some of these brands, give me your feedback, please: are they worth to buy?). The group was founded 1992 by some scientific experts to create cosmetics based on natural materials, with a belief that only raw materials are the most beneficial for the skin.
According to my research, Whamisa was founded 2002, correct me if you find some more details, please. The brand’s name is composed of Korean words: “Wha” – flower, “mi” – beautiful and “sa” – 4 (number) that means the four main ingredients for the products which are: roots, seeds, flowers and fruits. Whamisa positions itself as an organic brand. In fact the products of Whamisa are composed by more than 90% of natural ingredients. Moreover the brand uses only natural herbal liquids, extracts and juices instead of water. Whamisa cosmetics don’t contain silicones, parabens, mineral oil, synthetic preservatives, artificial fragrances and colours. The brand doesn’t test on animals that means it is cruelty free. This is because the brand is BDIH, ECOCERT and EWG certified as a producer of natural cosmetic.

Attention: Whamisa cosmetics are full of different herbs extracts. People who react allergic on herbs, be careful and study the ingredients list first before buying!

The big point of Whamisa cosmetic is the fermentation process. Whamisa uses fermentation by producing their cosmetics. Fermentation is a process by which enzyms break organic substances into smaller particles so they can absorb better into the skin. Besides that the fermantation method helps to preserve more natural sunstances than conventional methods.

The Toner – Whamisa Deep Rich Toner

Where to buy, amount and price:  20 ml – 7,00€ 120 ml – 41,95€

For example on Amazon

There are three kinds of it:

  • Organic Flowers Toner Original – for all skin types,
  • Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich- for dry, normal and sensitive skin,
  • Organic Flowers Toner Refresh – for oily skin.

Though I have a combination skin with oily T-zone, I decided to buy the Deep Rich, simply because the other two weren’t availbale. And (oh wonder!) it didn’t let me down.

It is gel-like liquid. Absorbs very quick without leaving a sticky film after.

Aloe Maculata Leaf Extract, Chrysanthemum Morifolium Flower Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Lactobacillus/Chrysanthemum Sinense Flower Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/ Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Rhizome/Root Ferment Filtrate, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Helichrysum Arenarium Flower Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Glycerin, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Fragrance, d-Limonene, Linalol

What should it do: moisturize, refresh, improve skin structure, increase elasticity of the skin and tighten.

How it worked for me:

  •  very hydrating – I have a feeling my skin is drinking by applying of this toner
  • gives a wonderful refreshing feeling
  • improves the skin colour
  • in fact, tightens the skin and makes it smooth
  • no break outs – and this is the essential for me with my post-acne ans little pmples-troubles
  • absorbs well and isn’t sticky (can be tacky, if you apply it in layers according to 7-skin-method)
  • has wonderful scent of fresh sweet flowers or herbs, reminds me of lollipops. ok, not everyone is a big fan of such scents, but I love it
  • small amount, but lasts for a long time
  • no parabens, SLS, (read above)
  • vegan and cruelty free (read above)
  • in sample size available

  • too expensive compared to other Korean toners

Love it! I think to use it instead of an essence during the whole summer. My experiences from last summer taught me that my fave essence from Missha can be a bit to heavy in a hot day and I was looking for a light one and Bingo! here’s it.
As an owner of combo skin I can recommend it even for oily skin, but by using light essences/serums and a light moisturizer after it and without 7-skin-method. I’ve been using it since nearly two months and am really excited. Definitely will repurchase it again.

Whamisa Sebum Treatment

Where to buy, amount and price:  I bought by Lovemycosmetic in sample size 20 ml – 7,00 € ,

the whole size: 120 ml – 35,95 €

On Amazon

– For combination and oily skin

The treatment is something what they call Lotion in K-beauty.

That means it is neither an essence, nor an emulsion, but something in-between.

For me it looks like a liquid ointment and smells like treatments from pharmacy. Applies good and absorbs very quick. To apply after essence or serum and before cream/moisturizer (or emulsion).

Aloe Maculata Leaf Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Lactobacillus /Chrysanthemum Sinense Flower Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus /Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus /Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelon) Rhizome/Root Ferment Filtrate, Salicylic Acid, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, d-Limonene, Linalol, Geraniol
What should it do: reduce and control sebum production that means no oily shine, make skin complexion clear and fresh.

Before buying I went through some reviews and the girls praised it in high tunes. Because I always had troubles with excessive sebum, specially in summer, I thought it would be intersting to test it. I’ve been testing it since a month or so and now I can say I really like it.

How it worked for me:

  • applies and spreads good
  • absorbs fully very quick, doesn’t leave a stiky film after
  • a small amount of 3-4 drops is enough for the whole face
  • gives a refreshing feeling
  • no break-outs
  • even moisturizes a bit
  • mattifies the skin
  • reduces sebum production
  • amount of 20 ml in sample size lasts for a long time

  • the scent is not really nice for my taste
  • expensive

I’m very pleased with this treatment. It works very well for oily tending skin. Reduces sebum production nearly for the whole day. I even think it has antibacterial properties: I’ve noticed less break-outs since using it. It is only a treatment and not a cream, so don’t forget to apply a moisturizer after it. Can only recommend.

Peeling pad –
– Whamisa organic fruits peeling finger mitt

Where to buy, amount and price:  I bought in sample size by LoveMyCosmetic 1 mitt – 3,20 €

The whole size: 25 mitts – 31,95 €

On Amazon 30 mitts – 32.00 $

– For combination and oily skin

Aloe Maculata Leaf Extract, Ethanol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Saccharomyces/Apple/Sucrose Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Lactobacillus/Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Diospyros Kaki Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Beta-Glucan, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Betaine, Betaine Salicylate, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, L-, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Leaf Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Oil, d-Limonene.

What should it do: remove dead skin cells and excessive sebum, make the skin softer, tighter and brighter.

How to use: After washing and drying the face, buff with the mitt the whole face gently massaging. Then wash it off with lukewarm water and apply a toner afterwards.

This was my first peeling pad ever!)))) Somehow, I like peeling masks or gels and avoided peeling pads, but this time I thought it is time to try some of them and chosed this one for a test. Of course one piece is not enough to know how it really works. Here my impressions:

  • very comfortable to use
  • the pad is good infused
  • both sides can be used
  • very refreshing
  • gently, not burning
  • so far no irritation noticed after using
  • as I said one piece is not enough, so I cannot really say at that time it makes the skin tighter and brighter, but it softens very nice

Would like to get 3 or 4 of them before buying the whole size.

Really loved all the products. Definitely will repurchase again. Highly recommend.

Stay beautiful 🙂

    1. Hi, Tajana. Thanks a lot for your comment. I do follow Korean 10-steps of skin care and usually applied it after essence instead of a serum and a moisturizer over. I used Whamisa sebum treatment only in summer. Now in winter I use much of the acids, so I don’t use it with acids, because the treatment is too strong in my opinion. I think you can also apply it after gel toner or use better an essence-toner 2 in 1, if you don’t like layering. And don’t forget this is not an essence or serum, but a treatment that means you should use it only for a short period, for a month for example. I think for daily use for a long time this is too strong. Be careful.
Yes, I use The Ordinary, but only 3 of their products plus oils. I like their oils very much. I’m planning to write a post about in January or February.
