Hi, lovelies! Hope you’ going well. How about checking out newbies on beauty market? And this is what I’m going to do in this post.
Recently I’ve bought a lot of magazines and see there I found samples of some cosmetic innovations. Some of them are really expensive. So, I thought: “What a chance to try some highend cosmetic nearly for free”.
In this post I’m going to share only my experience with the products. I admit that one little sample isn’t enough to judge a product, how it will work, but can definitely give first sketches what is it like. I’ll try to be as short as I can. So, then, here are my first impression of these innovations.
And these here are the samples:
– Garnier Organic Lavandin Anti Age Day Cream
– L’Oreal Hyaluron Filler Serum 1.5%
– L’Oreal Revitalift Red Day Cream
– L’Oreal Revitalift X3 Day Cream
– Neutrogena Hydro Boost Aqua Gel
– Vichy Neovadiol Magistral Night Treatment
– Shisheido Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Cream
Because I live in Germany at the moment, all the prices given I have found in German online shops. Can vary from country to country.
Garnier Organic Lavandin Anti Age Day Cream
Let’s begin with Garnier’s organic innovation. Last year I was surprised seeing this new organic range from Garnier in drugstores and because I know this brand as mass market cosmetic, I simply couldn’t decide to buy some of them. Will it be good enough to spend money for this? Luckily I found this nice little sample and finally tried it out.
Amount: 50 ml
Price: 9-10 €
Purpose: An anti-age day cream on basis of lavender essential oil to firm skin and reduce wrinkles. All skin types.
Certified organic. COSMOS ORGANIC by Soil Association. Vegan.
Water, Dicaprylyl Ether, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil / Jojoba Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin, Propanediol, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Calcium Pca, Sodium Phytate, Arginine, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil / Sunflower Seed Oil, Coco-Betaine, Alcohol, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Potassium Sorbate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum / Fragrance, (F.I.L B222961/1).
Except of lavender it contains also some goodies like: jojoba seed oil, argan oil, sunflower oil.
Contains a lot of icky frangrances from natural sources able to cause allergy: Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum / Fragrance, (F.I.L B222961/1).
The cream is of white colour and very smoothy, yet buttery in texture, but not thick in consistency.
Absorbs quick, no residue left. No grease, not sticky. Refreshes directly after applying. What I liked most is a super calming and mattifying effects. As to anti-age effect, one little sample isn’t enough to judge how good it works to reduce wrinkles or to make the skin firmer.
I had an allergic reaction one hour or two after application, my skin turned red for a couple of hours, then the redness diappeared. Because it’s an organic product and contains essential oil and other plant derivatives it’s clear enough that it can be causing allergy. That’s a pity, because I liked it a lot and already planned a purchase. I would not give any recommendtion, because maybe it was my own individual reaction. Hence it’s at your own discretion to buy or not.
L’Oreal Hyaluron Filler Serum 1.5%
Price: 14 € to 19 €
Purpose: anti-ageing serum plumping, hydrating and smoothing. For normal skin over 40.
Water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, Disodium Edta, Secale Cereale Seed Extract / Rye Seed Extract, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Calcium Pantothenate, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Linalool, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (F.I.L. B242753/1).
Surprisingly small list. Goodies: hyaluronic acid (0,5% macro- and 1,5% micro-hyaluronic acid), glycerine, peptide, vitamin C, rye seed extract.
Promises intensive moisturizing by leaving a film on skin’s surface which should prevent from dehydration. Further reducing of fine lines and wrinkles for smoother and plumpler skin.
This is a very liquid transparent gel. It run my hand down, so as I couldn’t take a pic and I am really surprised how I could save something for my face!
Leaves a film on the skin, somehow feels chemically. Absorbs very quick and full without leaving any residue, so it wasn’t sticky. Unscented. No irritation.
The only effect I could notice was dryness. Somehow I missed here this nice hydrating effect hyaluronic acid serums usually leave, when it feels like the skin drinks. Directly after applying I felt that the skin was thirsty very quick. Maybe this is only my own individual reaction. I’ll be glad for your feedback. Have any of you used this and what do you think?
L’Oreal Revitalift Energising Red Day Cream
Amount: 50 ml
Price: about 10 €
Purpose: anti-ageing, reducing wrinkles, firming, anti-fatigue, gives the skin a healthy glow.
Age: in my opinion 35 plus and over.

(F.I.L. B231989/1).
Key ingredients: Ginseng root extract – boosting the skin with energy, fights signs of fatigue and Pro-retinol – reducing wrinkles, smoothing.
Made of red ginseng root the cream has in fact a deep orange colour. Medium thick in consistency.
Gives slight refreshing and hydrating feeling, prickling sensation is possible. Pleasant to wear, absorbs good, doesn’t leave much residue, only a slight glow. Very well moisturizing, so as I felt my skin hydrated the whole day long. BTW, the colour doesn’t change once applied on skin and is very intensive for white and pale caucasian skin tones. Don’t wear it solo, but only under makeup so as not to scary people. As to its anti-fatigue and anti-ageing properties, I can admit it’s well energizing and plumping, but that’s all for a small sample. Conclusion. not bad for a budget cream. If you’re looking for a well-working anti-ageing remedy and not expensive at the same time this one is relatively good.
L’Oreal Revitalift X3 Day Cream
I guess this one is older than 2020, I saw it last year for the first time.
Amount: 50 ml
Price: 14 € to 16 €
Purpose: anti-ageing, smoothing, tightening, reducing wrinkles. All skin types (ageing skin).
Water, Glycerin, Isohexadecane, Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Isostearate, Aluminum Starch, Octenylsuccinate, Propylene Glycol, Nylon-12 Octyldodecanol Cetyl Alcohol, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate Behenyl Alcohol C13-14 Isoparaffin, Peg-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Stearyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Alcohol ,Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Myristic Acid, Myristyl Alcohol, Palmitic Acid, Adenosine, Disodium Edta, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Laureth-7, T-Butyl Alcohol, Polyacrylamide, Polyethylene, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol Ci 15985 / Yellow 6 Ci 19140 / Yellow 5 Linalool
Key ingredient here is Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol alias Pro-Xylane a sugar protein derived from beech trees developed by L’Oreal’s in 2006. Supposed to have anti-ageing properties by reducing wrinkles and stimulating GAGs (glycosaminoglycans) which are responsible for building the extracellular matrix (a gel-like stuff between skin’s cells) to make the skin firmer and keep hydrated.
Also contains hyaluronic acid amd Capryloyl Salicylic Acid aka LHA (lipohydroxy acid).
The cons of that cream are that it contains a lot of colourants, paraben and silicone. Not for fans of Clean Beauty.
The cream is white and velvety in texture.
Slightly scented. Spreads easily, absorbs very quick and does not leave any grease. Feels very pleasant on skin. No irritating noticed.
In fact, plumps and firms the skin amazingly, improves complexion. I saw the results in a day. The best lovely thing about it is that it doesn’t leave any residue (no oily shine, no glow the whole day long) and is well moisturizing at the same time. From all these three L’Oreal products this one had the chance to become my favourite, but I try not use cosmetics with parabens. That’s the reason why this cream from L’Oreal is not my case, though it’s well working stuff. Recommend for those with oily skin and over 40.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Aqua Gel
Amount: 50 ml
Price: 11-13 €
Purpose: moisturizer, suitable for sensitive skin, fragrance-free, oil-free, alcohol-free, dye-free.
Aqua, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dimethiconol, Synthetic Beeswax, Sorbitan Olivate, Laureth-7, C12-14 Pareth-12, Polyacrylamide, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carbomer, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Benzoic Acid.
Moisturizing gel cream with hyaluronic acid and glycerin supplies moisture to the skin and locks in to prevent dehydrating.
Dislike for too much silicony ingredients and paraben.
The cream has a gel texture, soft in consistency and slightly blue coloured.
Applies easily, absorbs very quick, very comfortable to wear, leaves no residue and oily shine, keeps the skin well hydrating from morning till evening. spends an amazing feeling of moisture like the skin is drenched in water. Like I have written above I care about subcstances in cosmetics I usually use and prefer clean beauty or products with only few questionable ingredients. Unfortunately not my cup of tea.
Recommend this as a perfect summer moisturizer for oily skin.
Vichy Neovadiol Magistral Night Treatment
Amount: 50 ml
Price: 25 € to 35 €
Purpose: anti-ageing rich nourishing and hydrating night cream for women in menopause (age between 40 and 60).

This Treatment is specially developed for women in the menopause, say something in the age between 40 and 60. This is the time when the skin’s own lipid barrier weakens. You can notice that when the fatty shine reduces with the age. Enriched with fatty Omega acids, this cream has the task to restore skin’s own lipid barrier, moisturize and nourish throught the night.
Key ingredients: Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids (rice bran oil, shea butter and safflower seed oil) strengthen lipidbarrier of the skin. Volcanic water with 15 revitalizing minerals for extra nourishing. Other goodies: LHA (capryloyl salicylic acid), meadowflower seed oil, eveneng primrose oil, panthenol, tocopherol, adenosine.
Though it’s paraben-free, but ISN’T alcohol-free, silicone-free, dye-free and fragrance-free. So, pay attention, if it’s important for you.
The cream is of intensive beige colour. The texture is a bit gel like.
Very rich, not fat, but heavy rich. I have combination skin and on my skin it felt very heavy and sticky. Did not absorb at all, but left a shiny film. At the same time was pleasant to wear, caused no irritation or breakouts. But a plumping skin the morning after was a positive sign that the treatment works. Recommendation. What can I say? If you have oily skin then hands off. This could be a perfect care for women with dry skin over 40. Even for combo skin it is too much.
Shisheido Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Cream
This years innovation from Shisheido a new line of anti-ageing cosmetics. Five products including creams, emulsion and treatment with and without SPF:
- Uplifting & Firming Day Cream SPF30
- Uplifting & Firming Day Emulsion SPF30
- Uplifting & Firming Cream Enriched
- Uplifting & Firming Cream
- Firming Treatment Overnight
What I have here is the Uplifting and Firming facial cream without SPF. Although I tried out a lot of cosmetics in the past, but Shisheido’s skin care was terra incognita for me until now. What I have only tried was a pressed powder with SPF (read full review here: Shisheido Pureness Mattifying Powder SPF 15 review). There were two reasons why I avoided this Japanese wonder: first because of the high price and second because of the controversal opinions I found in many reviews. There were always two groups of lovers and haters, so I thought it’s not worth to spend plenty of cash for something I don’t know how it really works. To say I was intrigued as I got this sample, to say nothing.
Amount: 50 ml also available 100 ml
Price: 120 € for 50 ml and 180 € for 100 ml (German online shops)
Purpose: revitalizing, firming, lifting, moisturizing. They promise visible results in only a week.
For ageing skin normal to dry. (I would say 35 plus),

Yes, this is a whole bouquet like I expected with alcohol, silicone, a lot of potential irritant fragrances, plus lavender oil and comedogenic MYRISTYL MYRISTATE.
But also has some goodies like caffeine, tocopherol, glycerin, rosemary leaf extract, camellia sinensis aka tea plant, olive extract, extracts from two sorts of angelica, citric acid.
This new formulation with ReNeura Technology++™ and KURENAI-TruLift-Complex promises a firmer lifted skin with reduced wrinkles, strengthens face contours and improves complexion visibly in a short time.
It’s a cream with a texture similar to LOreal’s Laser X3 cream, soft and velvety, but a bit gel-like. The colour is white with beige undertone (not seen on picture).
The cream is perfumed with typical cosmetic scent many creams usually have, but not long lasting.
Easy to spread, feels fresh and hydrating directly after applying. Feels very pleasant on the skin, no irritation noticed. On the other hand the cream is rich and nutritive, a bit heavy for combination skin (I have combo skin). Doesn’t absorb and leaves some grease and shine, but at the same time isn’t sticky.
OH, WOW, visible results in only a day! I couldn’t believe as I saw my face in the mirror with smoother and lifted skin and the best my complexion got rosy and looks much healthier.
Shisheido, is it possible to get a mini version?
For all cases, girls, if you’re willing to spent money on it, it’s definitely worth trying.
